DEAN INGE ON SEA BATHING

Dean Inge.,at the first dinner of the Sunlight League at the Hotel Cecil in London mentioned that in his opinion sea bathing jcould be employed to the betterment off health. The present practice, he saidfl "of mixed bathing with the body completely clothed, may be an agreeable social function—(laughter) but liygienically it is practically useless. I deprecate the absurd restrictions of some of the town councils of our seaports inthis connection. I suggest that at certain hours of the day on certain parts of tho beach men should be encouraged to run about with the minimum' amount of 'clothing—an exceedingly healthy recreation.

"As for the women, another portion of the beach might be reserved and enclosed for their similar recreation. A notice would be put up saying, 'Gentlemen will not' pass this harrier;'others must not.' " (Loud laughter.)
