KING'S THEATRE.
A strong drama entitled "Her Husband's Secret," is the main attraction at the King's Theatre this week. Tha picture, which i» adapted from May Enginton's story "Judgment," opens with scenes twenty-five years ago, in which it is shown that the youth of that day was just as flighty as they are today. Mrs. Pearce is deserted by her husband, and forms a friendship with her neighbour Brewster, a rich banker, who is a widower with the care of a baby girl on his hands. By a strange set of circumstances, the : deserted woman's child and the banker's daughter meet and secretly marry. Thoy return to the bride's home, but Brewster recognises the husband as an embezzler, and endeavours to seek a way out of the difficulty without shattering the dreams of his daughter. Brewster suggests to the young man that the latter should commit suicide. The husband attempts to kill himself, but is unsuccessful and under the guiding influenco of Brewster and his wife reforms, and a reconciliation eventuates. The leading characters are portrayed by Antonio Moreno and Patsy Ruth Miller, who are supported by a strong cast. The supports include a film showing the arrival of the American Fleet, a comedy, and a gazette. The King s Orchestra supplies appropriate music, and there is also a return season of Kamo and Edwards, who present new musical items.
