THE WINTER SHOW
CONTINUED SUCCESS
LAST WEEK ANNOUNCED.
The Wellington Winter Show continues to enjoy uninterrupted succcbb, and it is officially estimated that the attendance on Saturday numbered ten thousand. The aggregate attendance since the Show opened is said to be over 50,003, move than double the corresponding period for last year. Some 6000 school children'have already visited the Show, and from 12C0 to 1500 are expected to-day and to-morrow. The exhibitors are well pleased with their'enterprise. Several new side-shows have made their appearance, a;id this in itself is a proof that the success of the big undertaking has passed beyond the problematical stage. The large crowd present, on Saturday night enjoyed the display of fancy danring given by the pupils of Miss Gwen Gibbg, and the exhibitions of Highland dancing presented by the pupils of Mr. J. Boyd. The Caledonian Society's Pipe Band was in attendance, and their stirring music helped materially to brighten the proceedings It has been definitely decided to close the Show on Saturday next, go those who wish to view the exhibition will have only this week in which, to make their round of the attractions.
The live stock show attracted widespread interest on Saturday, when favourable comment was passed upon the small but very select offering of.cattle and sheep.
A special attraction this week will be the sheep dog trials at the Basin Reserve on Wednesday. A considerable access to numbers is expected from the American naval detachment.
