THE DEPARTMENTAL LUNCH HOUR
The Undcr-Secretary of Internal Affairs (Air. J. Hislop) announced yesterday that he had received a wireless message from Admiral Coontz concurring in the first day's programme, as already printed. "All Government Departments," said Mr. Hislop, "will be closed from U a.m. till 2 p.m. on Tuesdayto give officers an opportunity to witness the arrival of the fleet."
The various offices and departments of the City Corporation will, wherever possible, observe an extended luncheon hour, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.,. as in the case of Government Departments.
A request is made that all employers should grant an. extension of the usual luncheon hour to-morrow that their employees may have an opportunity of witnessing the arrival of the vessels.
