A NARROW VICTORY
NEW PLYMOUTH, 9th August.
The return match between Taranaki and Wanganui proved fast and interesting. Early in the game O'Connell scored for WiMiganui from a forward rush, and later Kingi, the Wanganui halfback, made a fine opening for Stewart, the centre-three-quarter, to score. Delves converted both trios. Near the end of the spell Robinson scored. Johnston converted,, the spell ending—Wangauui 10, Taranaki 5. Taranaki showed up well in the second spell, their backs handling better. Infringements enabled Brown to kick two penalties, which gave Taranaki the' victory by 11 points to 10.
