LEAGUE OF NATIONS UNION
Attention is drawn to the' advertisement in this issue announcing the annual meeting of the League of Nations Union to be held next Monday in the Dominion Farmers' Institute at 8 p.m. The Mayor, Mr. C- J. Norwood, has promised to preside, and there will be numerous speakers "of outstanding merit. Among those who are to address the meeting is Dr. Van der Las, from America, who lvis exchanged pulpits with the Eev. Robertson Orr. He is in strong sympathy with the League of Nations, and is to speak on the present condition of affairs in China, moving a resolution in connection with it. Reference to the hopeful position of the New Z: aland branch of the League of Nations will be made. A resolution dealing with the Geneva Protocol will be moved by Mr. P. Fraser, M.P., and other addresses will be delivered by Archbishop O'Shea, Dr. Gibb, and the Rev. F. de Lisle. The annual report of the branch will be presented, and the evening should be full of interest to all who are following the trend of international affairs and tiic doings and discussions of the League of Nations. The Sixth Assembly will be sitting within a month, and important developments may shortly be expected, with reference to the reconstruction of ■ Europe and the establishment of permanent world peace.
