RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES
(It TELIQItAFH.—P«I«S ASSOCIATION.! CHRISTCHUHCH, Thii Day. The weather was cold and ihowery at Riccarton, after continued rain overnight. Most of the work was done on the outside trial grass, but was not of much interest. Barn Qwl and Serotina galloped half a mile up the back. Tiff did a working mile. Serene beat Eehutai over seven furlongs in lmin 40sec. Mauuga beat Fireblight over a est^al mile. White Comet, assisted by Heisler, galloped six furlongs, the last five in lmin 8 2-ssec. Erie did a working gallop over a mile. Puwhera jumped three fences well, and then, in a working gallop, went once round. Uncle Dave followed a similar task.
Killocra beat Musical and Pompey over six furlongs in lmin 24 4-ssec. Passin' Through and Tuki did a working gallop of a mile and a quarter. Moorland ran seven furlongs, the last six in lmin 28 3-ssec. Beaumont ran an easy half-mile. Anticipate was better than Kuhib in six furlongs, time hnin 25sec.
Charlatan ran a working milei and Casselk took a similar task. Tenterfield did seven furlongs in lmin 44sec, and The Cheat five furlongs in lmin 13sec. Trespass led Blue Hall over three hurdles. Cashman and North Inch jumped four hurdles. Boughleen Dhoun and Apache covered five furlongs at a sound pace. A large number of other horses were out, but their work was chiefly of the useful order.
