DAVIS CUP CHALLENGE
ANDERSON FEARS FRANCE, NOT THE UNITED STATES.
(ACSTAAUAN-NIW ZIAUKD CABLI A8IOCIATIOX.)
(Received Bth August, 1.3S p.m.)
MONTREAL, 7th August. ' J. C. Anderson- said that France and not the United States is expected to be the hazard of Australia's bid for the Davis Cup this year. Rene' La Coste had shown more improvement in the past two years than any he had- seen, and Lacoste's temperament was much better suited to tournament play than any of his French team-mates. He has a cool head in any emergency, which coupled with his scintillating play, will make him a deadly opponent of the Australians. The United States players hold no terron for the Australians, and they are confident of the result. '
