SCHOOL CHILDREN FROM NELSON
Arrangements have been made by the Nelson Education Board to enable some or the school children to visit Wellington while tho American Fleet is there. The Anchor Company (states "The Post's" Nelson correspondent) has kindly consented to make concessions in steamer fares. The party is to consist of not less than 60 or more than 100 children with ten or twelve teachers or adults in charge. No child under 11 years of ai;e will be taken. ,Th« proposal is that •the_party leave Nelson by the s.s; Ngaio on Wednesday, 19th August, and, after sightseeing in Wellington, and visiting a battleship on the Thursday,' will depart for Nelson on the same evening. During their stay •in Wellington the party will divide into sections of eight or -ton children each, in- charge of an adult. Arrangements are being made so that tram and cable car rides and admission to the Zoo will be obtained without cost t 0 the children. The secretary of the Education Board has so far received from the headmaster of the Central School the names of 33 boys who will make the trip.
