Half a split £1 note was passed- at the ticket-box at the Winter Show last night, but the lady assistant at the stall where the operator .tried to pass the other half refused to change it, as it seemed too* flimsy.
That the Industries and Commerce Department should be made more useful than it was to-day was the opinion voiced by Mr. D. G. Sullivan (Avon) in the House of Representatives yesterday. The Minister-in-Charge (the Hon. G. J. Anderson) replied that from one end of the country to tho other business men wppo well pleased with the Department and the work it was doing.
