TROTTING NOTES

TROTTING FIXTURES.

August 18, I»—Forbury Park T.C. (American Fleet Meeting). ■ August 22—Auckland T.C. (American Fleet Hefting).

(By "Vedette.")

History repeats itself ,wlth the postponement of the opening day of the Metropolitan Trotting Club's Meeting. This wap the case last year owing to rain. The Addington track is a clay one, and apparently a great deal of rain has fallen, making it very treach* erous, or the, club's .officials would not Hare decided on postponement so early. Thp annual report of the Auckland Trotting Club states that the profit and loss account for tho past year showed a credit balance of £10,075 13s 2d. Of this £10,050 had been carried to the capital account, which had grown from £10,000 in 1913 ■to £55,000 in 1925; The new grandstand had been completed and furnished at the cost of £63,629 13s Bd.

S. M. August has taken Buz Bat, Rose Pointer, Hue Coronado, and Lord Ne'pean to Addington. Mr. J. R. M'Kenzie was at Addington on Thursday mornin g to witness his hor»ei work, Great Bingen is by no means a certain starter next week, but oo ths «oft tracks it is likely that h« will be. harnessed up. Sheik continues to please the trackwatchers at Addiugton. They also have a good word for Kean John, Napland, Detavan Quest, Pinevale, and Bell Harold

The Auckland pacer Home Bingen is said to be very fit, and is expected to race well at Addington. W. Evans has been keeping Master Councillor moving, and. his charge is one of the best conditioned of the Auckland horses. Master Councillor is a solid pacer and very consistent, but a mile and a half is plenty far enough for him when the pace is on, says the "Herald."

G. Mitchell is working Sebisca and Heather Girl at Alexandra Park. The latter displayed stamina hitherto unsuspected in winning the Hawera,Cup, and also performed solidly over a distance at the Auckland Autumn Meeting, writes "Picador." As she is well forward, Heather Girl may earn some more money early in the new season. When purchased for a good figure last season by Mr. H. C. Nicholls, Nelson Tasker was expected to do' well as a three-year-old, but failed to win a race. However, lie earned £465 in place money, and, as he has speed and is also well bred, his future is full of possibilities.

Jewel and Waikaha are reported to be doing well for J. T. Paul at Alexandra Park. ■ v Dean Dillon is moving rery attractively in his workouts, but "tho. bay gelding was always a free mover on the track, and he has often failed to run up to expectations in a race, comments a northern writer. He is now getting on a good mark, and only has to hit his' best form to win a race, providing, of course, he goes solidly all the way.' ; Present indications are that the approaching Fleet Meeting of the Auckland Trotting Club will be a big success. t Practically all tlio best of the Auckland-trained horses are in work, and though perhaps some of them will be- backward, . others are sufficiently well to be in a position to product) their best., In addition to the local brigade, there will hn a strong contingent of horses from the South competing, and these will include performer* hoping to qualify.for Cu[> nomination:
