DE LUXE THEATRE.
The attraction of wealth and a mar
riagcable man, and his devotion ■to mere physical beauty, provides tho plot, if it can so be described, in "I'll Show You the' Town," the leading film at the De Luxe Theatre last evening. Reginald Denny is tho central figure of the story, and as a young university professor he decides to pay court, to a wealthy but plain widow. At tho same time two other young women, whose only assets were beauty and charm, claim his attention and desire, the consequence of which is that many delightful and entirely humorous' complications occur. They all visit town together, and he gives them an invitation to dine with him, but unfortunately all on tho same day, with the consequence that he is hard put to it to fulfil his obligation to each lady without her knowing that two others are sharing his favours. He does it, however, and most successfully, The climax is entirely satisfying, and brings one of the most, laughable films shown in Wellington to a conclusion. Mr. Denny is aided "by Lilyan Tashman, Margaret Livingstone, Marion Nixon, and Cissy Fitzgerald, providing a bevy of beauty which is greatly added to by tho superb settings, especially during the mannckin parade in a beauty parlour. Tho supporting films were good, the gazette including many topical subjects. The music, as usual, was a special feature of the programme. Bishaw's Hawaiian Trio play a number of beautiful items, especially noticeable being "Au Revoir, Honolulu." The De Luxe Orchestra, under the baton of Mr. L. D." Austin, played "Raymond" (Thomas) as an overture, and the incidental music included selections from "Sally," "The Cabaret Girl," and other popular comic operas. Tho programme will be repeated this evening and again next week.
