frIROT ANNUAL-MEETING OP EASTBOURNE CLUB.

. The first annual meeting of the Eastbourne Croquet Club was held on Thursday in the Council Chambers at Eastbourne. There was a large attendance of members, the president (Mrs. T.: W. Pilcher) being in the chair. The report and balance-sheet, which were adopted, showed that the club, which has only been in existence for thirteen months, wae in a very healthy position. The membership was thirty-eight, while t^iere were several on the waiting list. In addition to paying the Borough Council £50 for the formation of the green, the club expended £16 9s 8d on fencing and £8 lls for plant. Two • dances and a card party were held during the year to raise funds for the fencing, which, was erected ; by voluntary- labour. The thanks of'theclub are tendered to the Borough Council for assistance' given,- also' to the president for a complete croquet set on the opening day, and to other donors for various g'fts.l. . ' •The eleotion of officers for the coming, season resulted as follows:—President, Mrs. T. W. Pilcher (re-elected); vice-pre-sidente, Mesdamea- H. W. Shortt and Rockstrow ; committee, Mesdftmeaßowie, Child, Duff. Fitzsimmons, Hill, Mather, and Robinson ; secretary and' treasurer,, Mrs. O. W. Richards (re-elected).
