A VISITORS' DEBATE
The Victoria University College Debating Society is holding a visitors' debate on Saturday evening at the college to discuss the principle .involved in the suggested change -from night i>o day lectures. The motion reads: " That as a general principle .lectures at Victoria University College should cease at 5 p.m." The leaders on each side will be students, while Mr. W. J. M'Eldownoy, LL.B., will support the mover, and Mr. H. A. Parkinson, M.A., will second the opposer. The student speakers will be judged by two members of the House of Representatives, who are noted for their keen interest, in educational matters, the Hon. J.A. Hanan and Mr. H. Poland, and several other prominent educationists have signified their ' inteii-. tion of being present, among them ISi) Harry Reichel. The debate commences at 7.45 jj.in., and all interested are welcome to atteud.
