MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Police and summons cases were dealt with by Mr. C. K. Orr Walker, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court to-day. One first offender for drunkenness was fined ss, in default 24 hours' imprisonment, and another was fined Id. . A remand to appear at Auckland on 10th August..was granted in the case of Frank Leslie Anderson, alias G. F. Wallace, who was charged with forging the name.of A. Gillon in the retailers' opium Uook at Auckland. Chief Detective Kemp explained that the accused '■was arrested on the Maunganui: by Detective Tricklebank, and was then travelling under nil assumed name. A- fins of £2 was imposed on Arthur Co.t, who Vvas charged with being in Barrett's Hotel after hours.
Ernest Dickons, who was charged with the theft of a camera, valued at £2 12s 6d, from Reginald Wilfred Kirk, was remanded to 13th August. Ernest Bedford was fined £2 on » chnrgs of using a -motor-bus without proper numbers. Failure to possess motor drivers' licenses resulted in the following being fined :.Hugh Hunter, Frederick William Pratt. Harry Douglas Nattrass, Harold. Sergeant, £2 each. . Before Mr. Q. E. Fownes, J.l'., at the Mount Cook Police.Court this morning, a second offender, for drunkenness, Hans I'orsen, was fined 20s. '
