IONIC FROM HOME.

An uneventiul voyage • was uiada to the Shaw-Savill liner-lonic, which arrived in the stream shortly aJter .11 o'clock last DigliD from London and Southampton, via. i'anaum. Ihe -vessel remained at tue anchorage tor the Bight, and after inspection by the Port Health and Customs authorities tills morning berthed at about 10.30 a.m. at Ko. 3, nortn King's Wharf, to disembark passengers and to land part cariio. Excellent weather waa experienced until yesterday, oB the New Zealand coast, whea the ship struck the southerly gale. The lonic left Lou- " don on the 21st May for Southampton. Mail» were taken aboard ana passengers were, embarked at, Southampton, and the vessel continued on her voyage on the 22nd May; Arrival was made at Colon on the 7th June, and while bunkers wete being taken in, the passengers went ashore. The Panama .Canal was negotiated, without mishap, and the lonic readied Balboa late it night" on the 7th June,, and sailed at daybreak the next day for Wellington on the flnii stage or her voyage.
