WELLINGTON GIRLS' COLLEGE PARENTS' ASSOCIATION
A meeting of the execntixe committee of the Wellington Girls' College Paa-ents' Association was held on Friday evening In the absence of the president, Mr. M. T. Ferrar was voted to the chair. There was a full attendance of members. The principal business of the evening was to consider the manner in which the association could help the school during the present year. After some discussion it was agreed that the efforts should ba directed towards improvements to. the grounds. It was decided, subject to the approval of the Board of Governors, and provided that n subsidy could be obtained, that several more tennis courts should be laid down and preparations made for a couple of croquet lawns.. A sub-committee, consisting of Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Purdie, Mr. R. Tait, and the hon. secretary, -was appointed to make the necessary preparations and to obtain an estimate of the cost of the work. In order to consider tho question of funds, the ladies' auxiliary will bo called together shortly. It was reported that an election for two parents' representatives on the Boai-d of Governors was being held, and tho meeting decided to support the candidature of Colonel Mitchell and Mr. F. Holdsworth (a College old boy).
