OFFICIAL PUBLICATIONS
To the nursery of Rugby football the New Zealand Rugby Union has made another valuable contribution in the shape of a publication entitled "School Football." Each school is being presented with a copy of the handbook, which is also on sale to the general public. Edited by Mr. T. A. Fletcher, the subject matter of the book is set out in such a way as to. make all points about the game perfectly clear, and a study of the various sections, by players of all grades and also by all who follow the game, should make for, an even better game, played according to the rules and according to the spirit. As the editor points out in a foreword, the book is written with the most expert advice, many of the suggestions coming from members of two famous Rugby teams, the 1905 and the 1924 combinations. In addition to illustrated articles on the game and its various phases, records and photographs of New Zealand teams are published, and the book is made even more valuable by the setting out of the Laws of the Game in classified form. The whole work is of distinct credit to the party responsible for it.
• Another publication well worthy of a place in, the library of all followers of football is the "New Zealand Rugby Union Annual for 1925." Details of all important Rugby, events are set. out in a manner which makes reference a simple process. Numerous notable performances are also given, with much interesting information as to play, players, and officials. A special feature of the annual is a complete record of the 1924 New Zealand team. As a further indication that the publication is up to date, the tour of the 1924 British team in South Africa is also set out. The annual is now on sale.
