LONDON, Bth. May: A resolution congratulating Earl Jelliooo on the honour bestowed upon him, and assuring him that the men of the Navy and Marines would never forget what they owed to him as the founder oE the Grand Fleet Fund, was passed at the third annual meeting of the Royal Naval Benevolent Trust ,at the Royal United Services Institution. .Vice-Ad-miral the lion Sir H. G. Braud presided.
According to the annual report there was no decrease in the distress existiue in ox-naval circles during 1924, and the number of cases dealt with by the local committees at Chatham, Devonpart, and Portsmouth had considerably increased. During the year the trust received £100,000 as a gift fro.i the Lord Commissioner of the Admiralty. This sum came from the balance of the Naval Prize Fund not required for payment of prize shuvos.
