DANCING.

. The third annual charity dance is to be held in St. Francis's: new hall, Sill street, on the 29th July. The proceeds are to be devoted to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, an organisation known lor its charity,-in giving relief to the poor in their homes .and the sick m the hospitals. , Rudolph's Orchestra will provide the latest music. Mr. R. S. Dwyer .is the organising secretary, and is assisted by an energetic committee. Late' trams will leave after the. dance.

This evening, in the Newtown Library Hall, another Serenaders' dance will be held. The committee is doing all it can to make the evening a decided success.

The Hard-up Dance, which was held in South Wellington School Hall last week, was a great success. The winners of prizes were Mrs. Stole and Mr. Mallette. At tho weekly dances patrons are assured of a good time. •

Another enjoyable jazz night under the auspices of the Hotel Grand Central was held in the Jewish Ladies' Club Rooms last Wednesday evening. This little function takes place every Wednesday, and patrons are assured of a perfect floor, excellent orchestra, and a good time generally. = The Bohemian Assembly's usual Saturday entertainment will be held tonight in St. Peter's Hall. The attendances at this • assembly afford sufficient evidence of its attraction. The management is ever alert to maintain an entertainment that will appeal to the most fastidious.

The De Luxe Assembly holds its popular old-time dance to-night in the Victoria Hall, Adelaide road. Mrs. Skew's Favourite Orchestra will provide music of a high standard. Special novelty attractions have been arranged by Miss Whyte (Mrs. Jackson), who is well known among old-time dancers.
