GALLI-CURCI
Although Wellington will hear Mad- j ame Galli-Curci while she is not only in her vocal primo but also relatively young., no singer ever lived who achieved such world fame, accompanied by record-shattering bos office receipts, in. the first year of her career. Her sensational debut at the Chicago Opera House dates as far back as November, 1916, and at the Lexington Opera House, New York, to 1918. Audiences capitulated to the new soprano at once. She has since crowded the Metropolitan at" every, engagement, and, taking London in her stride, paid . a flying visit last year, during which she repeatedly filled the vast auditorium of the Albert Hall. The celebrated artist will give her first concert in Wellington on Tuesday, 30th June, in the Town Hall. The bos plans for the season of three concerts will open at The Bristol next Tuesday morning.
