The winter grass was open this morning at Trent-ham, but not a, great deal of fast work was undertaken..
Debate finished ahead of Lady Gay, with Sottauo a long \vny back in a gallop over seven furlongs. Modem was too good for Bright Eyes, and Bezau \vas*;in front of Star Shell at the end of five-furlong sprints. Tanadess and Salamis were mates over seven furlongs, Salamis making quite a good showing against his better-perform-, ed companion.
