LONDON, 26th May. Rain all over the country interfered with play generally.
Playing at Portsmouth, Lancashire scored 134 (H. Makepeace 57) in the first innings against Hampshire, A. Kennedy taking seven wickets for 39 runs, and in the second innings lost nine wickets for 140 runs, declared (Makepeace 74). Hampshire scored 62 in the.first innings. C. Parkin taking six wickets for 32 runs, and in the second hit 127. Lancashire won by 85 runs.
The Yorkshire-Kent, match at Leeds was ,'ilmndonpd owing to rain when Yorkshire had lost no wickets for 39 runs.
J. B. llobbs scored 129 and IT. A. Peach 109 when playing for 'Surrey against Essex ,-ii Leyton. For Sussex J. lu'eeman hit up 125. Playing for Worcestershire against Gloucestershire at Worcester. ]t. 0. Rogers took six wickets for 69 runs.' J:'or .Middlesex against Warwickshire ut Lord s, T. J.. Uurstuu captured six wickets for 38 runs.
