The Biksdag, by substantial majorities, agreed to the recommendations of the Parliamentary Committee for a Bill substantially identical with that submitted by the present Labour Government in February, providing for a transitional period, after which the annual cost of Sweden's defences wilj amount to 96 million kroner, as compared with 181 million in 1914. The recommendations provide that the army shall be reduced to twenty regiments of infantry, four of cavalry, and seven of artillery. The navy and air force will remain unaltered at present, but tho naval programme will be reconsidered
