QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY
A SALUTE OF TWENTY-ONE 'GUNS.
To-day is the Queen's Birthday, Her Majesty having been born on 26th May, 1867. A Royal Salute of 21 guns was fired-from Defence Headquarters to-day in honour of the occasion. ■
In connection with the Queen's -Birthday, the'Governor-General has sent the following message to Her Majesty :— "The Government and the people of New Zealand, with whom I associate myself, tender to Your Majesty respectful congratulations and good wishes on the oocasion of Your Majesty's Birthday.— (Signed) Fergusson."
