(UNITED tRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.)
(PUBLISHED IN TUC TIMES.) (Received 26th Hay, 10 a.m.) PARIS, 25th May. Sympathetic references are made in the newspapers to the death of the Earl of Ypres. "One of the noblest figures of the war," is how the "Temps" describes him, and the paper adds that France will never forget the loyalty and valour with which he co-operated with her leaders. "It is deeds such as his, performed while the destinies of the world were at stake, that created powerful FrancoBritish ties that nothing can weaken." The "Journal Dcs Debate" says that the services he rendered cannot be measured by numbers. "He has commanded posterity to regard him as the incarnation of generous England, rising as one man to defend a. scrap of paper, protect Belgium, and help France, who mourns him as one of her own children."
