ORGANISING WORK

LEAGUE BRANCH AT LYALL BAY.

In preparation for the General Election this year the Reform League is holding meetings and setting up organising committees in all parts of the Dominion, and a meeting held in St. •Ride's Hall, Lyall Bay, last night, presided over by Mr.. A. Sando, decided that a branch ot the league should be formed in that district.

, Colonel P. B. .Mabin, Eeform organiser for Wellington city and district, stated that the Reform League was meeting with decided success, everywhere it was forming branches. "It is a well-known fact," he added, when impressing the need for organising in largo numbers, "that our side are the most

apathetic people to find, but when the time cornea they are not found wanting." Since the last election the • enrolments in the Wellington Suburbs electorate bad increased from 10.792 to 12,997. it behoved them, therefore, to get .. their organisation going. Other political organisations, were working. seven days a week in preparing for the ' comingcampaign, and if the Reform supporter's did not bestir themselves they would uo left. "It is with that object in view." proceeded Colonel Mabin, "that we are forming these branches right throughout the whole of the Dominion. We

hope that the people will realise their responsibilities in connection with • the political "warfare."

Colonel Mabin paid a compliment- to the 'excellent services which had been performed _by Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P. for- the district, and bj7 Mrs. Wright, and said they -nil- hoped that, they both would be spared to continue their good work. (Applause.)
