"THE GOOD LUCK BALL"

AT TOWN HALL TO-MORROW NIGHT.

■ Final arrangements have now been completed for "The Good Luck Ball," which is to be held in the Town Hall and Concert Chamber to-morrow night in aid of the Community Club, Buckle street, and judging by the rate at which tickets are being disposed of the function promises to bo one of the most successful and memorable ever held in Wellington. The executive has spared no pains in endeavouring to ensure that the "Good Luck" atmosphere will not only be in evidence but will be felt and enjoyed by all present. This is being .obtained by the special "Good Luck" decorations, the grand parade of living mascots, and tho engagement of both of Tntschka's Orqhestras. The decorations in themselves will . provide something unique, being composed of golden horseshoes and specially designed dancing black cats of large size, the whole of which will be set in a wealth of lycopodium and birch, thus presenting the splendid scheme of blending colours of green, black, and gold. Added to this will be a plentiful display of bunting, and gaily coloured costumes and caps, which should make a charming sight. For the grand mascot parade, the first of its kind ever held in Wellington, the executive is offering a gold wristlet watch for the winning lady, and separate prizes for the best mascot hat worn by a lady and by a gentleman. A special prize will also bo awarded for the best paper dress, and still another for the lucky one of the mascot caps, which will be sold in the hall and will be numbered. As the dancing will be under the able control of Mr. J. A. Smyth, of "Joy Night" fame, and his helpers, dancers are assured of the best of evenings. Late trams have been arranged.
