The popular Violet Assembly will hold its mid-week dance to-night. "Miss Murphy's Orchestra will supply the latest music, and the floor should be in perfect order._ There will bo twenty prizes as usual in tho lucky waltz competition. Tho Bohemian Assembly, the pioneers in introducing old-time dancing io Wellington,, and which has lieconip so popular fince its inception, held its second annual ball i,, t.ho Town Hall hist Saturday. The occasion was one of much rejoicing, about, 4CO couples participatint: in the evening's enjoyment. Tho. increase in patronage is sufficient pmof th.-it the efforts of ilr. M. Donit, -M.C., and Mailman's orchestra, at tho r.ntannia Jazz Assembly. Early Settlers' Flail, Abel Smith street, is acceptable, to those who attend this weekly function. The outstanding feature of last night s assembly was the exhibition dancing of Miss Hannibal and Mr. Winter Special features .'iro provided at each assembly.

Tho De Luxe Assembly will hold its usual old-time dance to-night in the Victoria Hall, Adelaide road. The floor is in perfect condition, the decorations have a pleasing effect as soon as one enters, and I\lrs. Skew's noted orchestra' supplies perfect music, leaving notliim; to be desired.
