BUTCHER AND LABOUR MINISTER
TO THE EDITOR.
■ Sir,—^Enclosed I hand you a copy of a letter which I forwarded to the Honourable the Minister of Labour on the 23rd instant.—l am, etc.,
G. 0. SUTTON, Secretary, Wellington Maat-er Butchers' Assn.
The letter is as follows:—
"In a^report in last night's "Evening Post" of a deputation which you received from the Butchers' Union; Mr. A. W. Croskery, their secretary, is reported to have said:—
" 'As a matter of fact, the president of the Butchers' Association closed on the Wednesday, and knew nothing of the change.' "I desire to bring under your notice that, if Mr. Croskery was correctly reported, his statement is quite contrary to fact, as the businesses of the president of this association (who is at present out of N^evr Zealand) and also of the actingpresident, remained open on the Wednesday afternoon. I feel, in view of what was reported in "The Post," that I "should bring this fact under your notice."
