Bridges .have been washed away and roads washed out. The main roads in Ohakune were washed out for three chains. The Main Trunk express was held up at Taihape for five hours owing to slips at Karioi, and for another five hours at Ohakune, owing to a slip at Piriaka. No trains have arrived from Auckland since mid-day yesterday. The rain ceased last night, and the river dropped considerably.
