SHUNTERS AND THEIR WORK

WANGANUI, 22nd May. An _ inquest •on the body s of Gilbert Tremaine, a shunter who died as the result of having both legs run over, was held to-day. The Coroner recommended that a departmental inquiry be held, in order that an expert estimate of the circumstances might be made. A shunter who gave evidence alleged that shunters were harried by "blisters," and, consequently, were disposed to take risks in order to get their work through
