ANNUAL REPORT OF ASSOCIATION.
Tho annual report of the Early Settlers' Association refers to another year of progress and development in the general activities of the association. A« during previous years tho social side of the association's activities had been well maintained, meetings of various kinds haying been held frequently, enabling the association to bring many old friends together again and bo recall interesting memories of the past. Since July last all meetings 'had been held in tho Early Settlers' Hall. ■ Opportunity was taken at tho annual winter re-union to say farewell to Earl Jellicoe, the departing Gov-ernor-KSeneral. The report states that the memorial in the Hutt Valley to the Imperial'troops who fell in the Native war of 1846 13 now complete; and only awaits arrangements for .the unveiling ceremony. -During the year many alterations, had been made to the hall, which now ranked as one of the best in the city. The membership of the association stood at 420, made up as follows •— Honorary 40, life 14, ordinary 365. associate 1.
