LITTLE HOPE OF RECOVERY,

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPTRIGHT.)

(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLB ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 21st May. An unexpected bulletin, issued last night, reports that the Earl of Ypres is sinking. There appears to be little hope of his recovery, and his condition at midnight was most grave. He rallied this morning, and got a, little sleep. The Earl of Ypres is lying' at Deal Castle, where he insisted on being taken in a motor ambulance from the nursing home in London on Sunday. The castle is within two miles of his birthplace, and has been his official--residence as Captain of Deal since 1923.

Local ex-service men paraded on Tuesday in front of the castle, and saluted the Earl -who was lying at an open window. He smartly raised his hands from the bedclothes in return.
