Many of the fish have been attacked at the river bars by dogfish and barracouta, and show signs of harm. Still, the fish which came up the Waitaki towards the end of last week seem to be the first of a new school, and Mr. C. L. Ayson, who is. m charge of the work, is hopeful that there will be an improvement.
