"WILDFLOWER."

"Wildflower," a musical comedy of Lombardy, which is now being presented at the Grand Opera House by an excellent J. 0. Williamson Company, headed by Miss Marie Burke, has been proclaimed as "the best of all comic operas." That is a very wide claim, indeed, but among those who have witnessed the presentation there will be many who have so thoroughly enjoyed the brightness, of the show that they will readily enough agree. "Wildfiower" is a happy and clever presentation, made the more entertaining by the attractiveness of the story, something sounder than the socalled plot of the 'greater number of comic operas, a rational and connected story, the pleasing music, and particularly by the excellence of the dancing. Miss Burke appears as Nina, the peasant maid of the South, charming and vivacious, with -whom, the town of Gasico generally is in love, and with whom Guido (Mr. Herbert Browne) is particularly in love., Mr. Gus Bluett provides much of the lighter side of the story, but through the whole story there is "a clever vein of humour, and all contribute to it. The dancing of the Cansino Brothers and Miss Stonecmrn is a iJistinct feature of the production. "Wiidflower" will be presented each evening, and at a matinee to-morrow, until Tuesday. Owing to the fact that the Gz'and Opera House is otherwise engaged, the present season cannot possibly be extended; therefore only four evening performances and a matinee will be staged of "The Cousin from Nowhere," which opens next Wednesday. This opera ran for over six months in Sydney and Melbourne, and quite recently it attracted record audiences in Brisbane. Miss Marie Burke is said to be exquisite in this piece, and Gus Bluett has scored his best success to date in this production. Tho box plans will open at The Bristol on Monday morning.
