GENERAL ELECTION
EARLIER DATE DESIRED,
Ihe date of the General Election in the past having fallen somewhere in mid-December, Auckland business men desire a. change. The 'Auckland Chamber of Commerce has urged the Associated Chambers of Commerce of the' Dominion to ask the Government for an curlier period. The grounds of this request are that the usual date is too near Christmas, and that the General Election at that time of year results in loss of trade and inconvenience to the travelling public. The association endorsed the proposal, as it did a similar one from the Pahiatua Chamber, nnd resolved to bring the matter before the Government for its favourable attention.
