MELBOURNE, 20th May. _In fino but dull weather, the English Soccer team defeated Victoria by 7 goals to nil. The winners were not extended. Victoria started well, but were unable to sustain their effort, and England's passing and head tactics, coupled with cohesive forward play, dazed their opponents. At half-time the score was: England i goals, Victoria nil. Robinson, Victoria's goalkeeper, was the best local player. Barrett and Templeton were effective. The test English player was Williams, wlio scored .fourgoals; Sims, Spencer, and Seymour scored one each. Five thousand people watched the game.
