LOCAL REFEREES
The Wellington Eugby Eeferees' Astociaiioa held its weekly meeting last evening; Mr.. T.. A. Fletcher - presiding over a large attendance of members.
A report was made that at Crawford Green the spectators encroached on the playing area, and it was decided to ask the Wellington Rugby Union to arrange f«w roping-off the, western touch-line. ,;. In appreciation of hospitality extended to referees, it was decided to -send <a )*tUr of thaalu to Mr. Bartoeh. of Taito.
The new rule relating to the kicker aad placer, being the same person in the ,case of, penalty kicks, was difienssed, and a decision made that it be brought into force next Satur«|ay. An instruction was giv«n that until furtlier notice playera on the mark when a penalty kick "is being taken shall ho permitted to jump for the ball. .
