Many a good story has been told of Jtegunental Mascot, the living emblem of _ good luck," which became legion during the Great War, but it is anticipated that locally, these will pa l e into insignificance compared with those which will be related at the "Good Luck Ball : which is to be held in the Town Hall and Concert- Chamber on Wednesday, the 27th inst. One of the principal features of the ball will be the wearing of mascots, any emblem of good luck, and in order that dancers may give full rein to their imagination as well in dressing as living replicas tho executive has decided to offer a gold wristlet watch to the lady givin" the best representation, while the whf ning gentleman will also be awarded a special prize. Other prizes will be given for the best and neatest mascot representation worn on the lapel of the coat or. dress, and also for the best fancy dress costumes. The decorations which will be entirely original, will be specially designed to create the atmosphere of "good luck," and first-class music has been arranged, Tntschka's two orchestras having been .engaged for tho 'occasion. The ball is being held inlaid of the funds of the Community Club"Buckle street, which has ■ been establ hsbed for tho benefit of Territorials and' Senior Cadets. -
