Jacob (India) beat Jean Washer, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, S-7, 6-4. ■ WARSAW, 16th May.. In the Davis Cup first round, Britain v. Poland, F. G. Lowe defeated Swede, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1: J. P. D. Wheatley defeated Forester, 6-1, 6-2, 6-1; L. A. Godfree and C. H. Kingsley defeated Puzbar and Steinert,_6-4, 6-2, 6-2.
