MELBOURNE, This Day. As the result of a disturbance outside the United States Hotel, at Carlton John Henry Dodds, aged 42, died from a bullet wound in the head. Jack Maxwell O'Shea, the licensee, was arrested ou a charge of murder. According to a statement by O'Shea lie and another man heard the sounds of men attempting to break down the back gate, and he saw one man climbing the gate, and others assisting. O'Shea fired a shot from a revolver, intending to frighten them, but the man on the gate fell off. The men scattered when the police arrived, and escaped.
