MR. TBOUP'S RETIREMENT.

On the eve of his departure from the Railway Department, Mr. Gt. A. Tr'oup, officer in charge of the architectural branch, who retired on superannuation on- Saturday after thirty-nine of service, was met by the members of hi 3 office staff who were desirous of making him a small presentation on behalf of the architectural branch and to bid him farewell.- ■>.''} Several, speakers eulogised Mr. Tro'up, referring to the sterling value of his service to the.Dnpartment and.expressing regret that: the time had come for his' retirement, but wishing him long life and happiness to enjoy the rest he has justly earned.
