V.M.C.A. v. WANDERERS.

V.M.C.A. and Scottish Wanderers met at Association Park in one of the brightest games upon that ground. The first spell was fast and open, but it was not till well on in the second spell that the incidents of play commenced to pile up. As play opened, Wanderers looked like winners, for they put any amount of energy into their work, and played promisingly combined football, whereas loung Men,, certainly not lacking in energy, missed several chances by rather wild work near goal. Sutherland, right win; for Wanderers, opened the score after a series of attacks, and the pace was immediately crowded on. V.M.C.A gained an ascendancy, and thereafter did most of the attacking. Bryce, an emergency goalkeeper for Wanderers, did remarkable work, and gave as bright an exhibition between the posts as one might wish for. Young Men failed to open their score in the first spell, bu£ Dempster, inside left, sent through early in the second after moving up with iJaliard. There was another spell of fairly even going until Youngs Men settled down again in attack.
