■GISBOUNE, 17th May. About 4 o'clock this morning a fire practically destroyed a building in Makaraka, occupied by R. Bell, blacksmith, and C. Jensen, wool-skin buyer. The amount.of skin-hides in the store is not known, ljut it is believed not to be considerable. The building was owned, by Mr. J. C. Parker, formerly of Hawkes Bay, but now of WeHingon.
