DANCING.
The popular Violet Assembly wjll hold its mid-week dance .to-night. Miss Murphy's Orchestra will supply the latest nmsic, and the floor should be in perfect order. There will be twenty prizes as usual in the lucky waltz competition. The fancy dress ball, to be held at the New Ambassador on Wednesday evening next, is creating a great deal of interest. It is the first o? its kind to be held in Wellington. All patrons are attending dress as children. The cabaret has been transformed into' a large nursery, and fun and frolic will reign supreme for five hours. Thn music hits received special attention, and a musical treat is assured. .Novelties have been obtained from Sydney, and will Ue disilribukd during the evening.
