TRENTHAM NOTES
The trial grass was open at Trentham i on Saturday morning, but apart from horses engaged at Hastings there was Jntle of note. The track was on the soft side. ' .:' • . The most interesting gallop of the morning was that... of Quiescent. Tanadees, and Fool's Paradise over a mile with the last-named carrying the biggest weight. Quiescent and -Tanadees finished well clear of Fool's Paradise in lmin 44isee. Degage galloped six furlongs in lmin losee. Star Shell and Sottano sprinted half a mile in 51|sec, both going well. Kuhio and Modern were galloped in company, the latter holding her own. Merit, alone., covered five furlongs in lmin 4sec. " Nadarino, brought home by Bright Eyes, sprinted half a mile in 52sec. Master Peter and Dubious did' useful work on the flat* _ Tiuohari and Aeriform have been put into work again by J. Ayres. The former injured a leg slightly, and will not be asked for anything strenuous for a week or two. The tracks are,closed this mornb" owing to the rain. The horses engaged at Hastings should have their final gallops to-morrow, for they are Ifcbked to leave on Wednesday.
