RECOUNT AT EASTBOURNE
The recounting of votes cast during the recent municipal' election at Eastbourne has now been completed by Mr. J. F. Menzies,' the returning officer. Mr. Jones's majority for the Mayoralty comes down one vote, and Mr. Walker's total two, the figures being: H. M. Jones 458, A. Walker 367. Two informal votes were cast. , . • .
The figures for the council have altered somewhat, but do not bring about any change in .the position of candidates. The totals on the recount are as follow:—J. F. Laihg 562, C. H. Andrews 560, H. Black-557, E. A. Dawson 502, H. J. Levy 499, S. Edilson 393, S H. Jenkinson 382, R. G. Holmes 323, S. F Fisher 317, R. Uridge 292, W. Munckton 285, H. N". Morrison 281, <H. Downs 188, Mrs. L, -Macm.illan.ll9i and F. W. Mackenzie 87. Sixteen informal votes were cast. , .
Final figures for the Power Board representative are :—A. Walker. 348 (elected), H. Black 268, and F. H. Mather 167. Informal votes amounted to 46, many electors thinking they were entiled to elect two representatives instead of one. :
