WANGANUI, 30th April. A touring car got out of control on a, steep hill at Turaldha. to-day, arid went over a bilnk. Mrs. M 'Donald (Masturtdn) received injuries to the spine, while Sister Howaton's (Wanganui) injuries are not yofc definitely known. The other ladies of- the party, Misses Morrison (Masterton), received minor injuries.
NEW PLYMOUTH. 30th April. A pathetic tragedy occurred near Patea to-day) when the infant daughter of Mil and Mrs. Mead, of Lower Ball rond, was burned to death Whim the house was destroyed by fire. The mother and falhcF were a\vft,y at the milking shed at the time, leaving a boy in charge. When the hoy discovered the fire he could not reach the bliby owning to smoke. *
