TOKIO, 18th March.

Three conflagrations occurred in Tokio this afternoon, one of which is reported to have destroyed 3000 buildings, rendering 20,000 people homeless. Many casualties are feared. Troops were called out to make a fire-break and check the progress of the flames. The work of the firemen was severely hampered by a strong gale and lack of water. The other fires destroyed about 60 houses each before they were controlled.
